Anna Hildur Hildibrandsdóttir, PhD researcher in Geography at the University of Galway, is co-convening a panel at the 34th Nordic Symposium on Tourism and Hospitality Research, taking place in Reykjavík, 6–8 October 2026.

The session, “Heritage Ecologies: Creative Entrepreneurship for Regenerative Rural Futures,” is organised together with Professor Katrín Anna Lund (Department of Geography and Tourism, University of Iceland). It explores how the concept of heritage ecologies can help rethink relationships between culture, nature, and rural development in the context of the Anthropocene and growing environmental challenges.

The panel invites contributions from researchers and practitioners examining how cultural tourism and creative entrepreneurship can support regenerative rural futures, particularly through initiatives led by local communities, municipalities, cultural organisations, and lifestyle entrepreneurs.
