Micro-credential Overview

The aim of this micro-credential is to enable current and aspirational entrepreneurial leaders to become knowledgeable and confident in leading through change in the ‘Experience Economy’ in a sustainable way. It was co-created through a partnership between experts in decent work and organisational growth and at the Discipline of Management in the J.E. Cairnes School of Economics at the University of Galway and Customer Service Excellence Ireland which has extensive experience in training for Customer experience.

Customer experience is at the heart of the relationship between a business and its customers, and can be a unique selling point as consumers seeking greater experiences in dealing with brands across all domains (Pine and Gilmore, 1999). However, it also reflects the relationship between employer and employees, and can come under strain during organisational change, such as in turnaround or rapid growth phases. Thus this micro-credential links the “internal customer experience” of employees to “external customer experience” in order to equip modern leadership with proficiency in how to lead through change.
