Undergraduate Merit Scholarships
 
Merit Scholarships for Undergraduate Students 2022/2023 are now closed
University of Galway is committed to attracting high calibre students from around the world. To this end, the University offers a range of merit based partial tuition fee waivers to eligible undergraduate students.
Awards for Undergraduate Students are valued from €1,000 up to 50% tuition fee waivers for those commencing study at University of Galway in September 2022.
Eligibility
Undergraduate Students that have accepted an offer to study at University of Galway commencing September 2022 will be considered for these awards.
Scholarship applicants are assessed based on academic merit. In addition, applicants will be asked to submit a Personal Scholarship Statement. (500 words maximum) covering the following points:
- Your interest in coming to University of Galway.
- Why you believe you are a good candidate for this scholarship.
- How will you promote links with University of Galway, both during your scholarship tenure and as alumni?
Deadline
Round 1: Opened in February; open to all students that have accepted their offer on/before 28th March - round 1 awards closed on Thursday 31st March.
Round 2: Opened on Friday 1st April and round 2 awards closed on Friday June 17th.
Assessment Process
Round 1: Announcements will be made in early April.
Round 2: Announcements will be made in July.
College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Celtic Studies
The College of Art, Social Sciences, and Celtic Studies are awarding Undergraduate International students scholarships valued at €1,000 and €2,000 for those commencing study in their college in September 2022.

The College of Business, Public Policy, & Law are awarding several different Student Scholarships ranging from €1,000 up to 50% tuition fee waivers. All applicants who have already accepted their offer from the College of Business, Public Policy, & Law are invited to apply.

College of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences
The School of Medicine is awarding two Undergraduate International Scholarships valued at €2,000 each, to two international students commencing their studies on the Undergraduate Medical Degree Programme in September 2022.
