Each year the School of Medicine hosts a research showcase event, for students who participated in the Summer Research Programme. In 2016, over 70 medical students took part in the summer research programme and all participants have the opportunity to present their research at our Annual Research Day.   Click here‌ to view the UGR Abstract Book, which showcases the breadth and depth of the research projects undertaken.

The Research Day is comprised of Poster and Oral Presentations, with prizes awarded for Best Oral Presentation (James P. Murray Memorial Gold Medal) and Prize for best Poster Presentation.

Highly Ranked presenters (oral and poster) will also have opportunity to present at Atlantic Corridor Research Conference (ACRC), where the best UG research students from NUI Galway, the University of Limerick Graduate Entry Medical School, and University College Cork all come together to present their research projects.

NUI Galway are delighted to be hosting the 2016 Atlantic Corridor Research Conference on Wednesday, 3rd November 2016.

If you would like to learn more about the exciting research projects undertaken and meet our student researchers, please join us on the day. A full schedule of events is available here
