Biography

I completed a B Comm and Master of Accounting degree at NUI Galway before joining KPMG's audit practice in Galway. During my training I worked on a variety of audit engagements ranging from small Irish companies to large PLCs.
After qualifying as a chartered accountant I joined NUI Galway as a lecturer in accounting and finance in 2015. Since then I have also completed a H Dip in Psychology in NUI Galway.
My research interests include ethical decision making of accountants, burnout and stress, and financial decision making.

Research Interests

My research interests include ethical decision making of accountants, burnout and stress, and financial decision making.

As part of my MAcc I completed a qualitative study on the work placement experiences of business students, examining the link between classroom learning and work experiences, and students' perceptions of the skills they have developed on placement.

My H Dip thesis examined the prevalence of dissociative experiences in an undergraduate sample and how this relates to childhood trauma, attachment style and self-compassion.

I have supervised a number of postgraduate projects which examined burnout in accountants, ethical decision making of accountants, and personality profiles of accounting trainees.
