Biography

Claire qualified as a general nurse in N. Ireland and moved to London to gain experience as a staff nurse. She pursued a traditional route through the clinical hierarchy up to clinical nurse manager level and then moved into practice development and education. Following a number of posts as a lecturer practitioner she moved into an academic post and has since remained. Claire’s clinical, research and academic expertise lies in the area of gerontological nursing. Claire is programme coordinator for the BNS Nursing (General) programme and she teaches across all years of the undergraduate BSc programme and several postgraduate programmes.
