Biography

I began my academic career with a BSc. in Biotechnology at Leeds University. I then moved into social science by doing an MSc in Science and Technology Studies in Amsterdam and a PhD in Sociology at Exeter University.  To gain insight into the political production and application of knowledge, I spent several years working in 'applied' areas such as academic public health, social marketing, mental health research etc.

National, International and Transnational Histories of Healthcare, 1850-2000 (EuroHealthHist): Management Committee

Currently, my research connects with several areas in medical sociology, including psychosocial determinants of health, lived experiences of health and illness, and health service research.  I collaborate with various third-sector organizations to support their evaluation and monitoring processes.

Research Interests

Medical Sociology, Healthcare, Gender, Science and Technology Studies.

Ingrid is happy to explore opportunities to undertake consultancy and research work with external organisations.
