Dr. Amber Dorey joined the Molecular Parasitology team in 2019 as a post-doctoral research fellow specialising in molecular biology. Prior to this position, Amber completed a BSc (Hons) Biology at the University of Bath, MSc Medical Microbiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a PhD in Microbiology at NUI Galway. Amber began working on the role of antioxidants in host-parasite interactions, but developed a strong interest in parasite diagnostics. As part of a collaboration between Prof. Dalton and Prof. Sean Doyle from Maynooth University, Amber has been working on the development of diagnostic assays for Fasciola hepatica.
