What are smart expenses?

Since July 2017, all NUI Galway expenses are electronic.

Hard copy expense claim forms and paper receipts are no longer accepted by the Payroll & Expenses Office.

Instead, you can scan your supporting documentation or photorgraph it (e.g. with a smartphone) and attach it to your expense claim in Agresso, making sure all receipts are clearly legible.

Why smart expenses?

There are many advantages to replacing paper expense claims with electronic ones:

  • increased flexibility - you can complete your expense claim and attach receipts on the go, from anywhere in the world
  • increased security - there is no risk that your expense envelope will get lost in the post
  • reduced carbon footprint - there is no need for paper envelopes or printed forms and receipts
  • reduced costs - there is no need for expensive storage or paper claims
