Upload and Link a Document while editing

Create a Word document and save it as Brochure 2024 on your computer. Using the guidelines below upload and Link this document to your webpage while editing your About Us page. All trainees use the one category in the Media Library - Training (2024). Remember to add your own name as part of the Name of your image, e.g. firstnamesurnameBrochure-2024:

  1. Go to the your [Firstname Surname] website, expand the sub-sections if they are not showing by clicking on the plus sign a plus symbol, enclosed in a border
  2. Click on the Actions button Actions button for options for the About Us section
  3. Click on Edit section, your section will open on the Content tab
  4. Click on the Actions button Actions button for options for the My About Us Content
  5. Choose Edit
  6. In the WYSIWYG Editor Content field place your cursor on a new line below Pet Shop Brochure 2023 where you wil add your new document link
  7. Click on the Insert Media icon Insert Media Icon for adding images and files to your WYSIWYG Content area h26 to open the Media Library
  8. If you don't see the category you need under the Media categories section, click on the plus sign beside Categorised Media Library Categorised folder icon with plus sign highlighted h27
  9. Scroll down to the category called Training (2024) and click on the plus sign a plus symbol, enclosed in a border to show the Files and Images categories
  10. Click on the Files category
  11. Click on the +Add Media button Add media button in the Media Library h27
  12. Click in the Media file field and choose your Brochure 2024 Word document from your computer
  13. Give the document a Name - firstnamesurnameBrochure-2024, give the document a Description - Our brochure for 2024 with our new products and pricing
  14. The Media type should be automatically chosen, if not, click on the small arrow to choose the document type from the dropdown menu
  15. If you created the document in Word the option should be Microsoft Office Document
  16. if you have chose a different document, such as a pdf, then the Media type should be Adobe PDF Document
  17. In the Metadata add any keywords you think will help a user to search for the document
  18. Click Save changes Save changes button.  Puts content on pending to be brought back to the Media Library
  19. Locate your new document in the list of content and click on its Actions button
  20. Choose Select media
  21. Back in the WYSIWYG Editor you can see the document link has been added, the text of the link is the name of your file. To change the text displayed - Double click on thedocument link
  22. A Set media attributes popup appears.
  23. Overwrite the Name field to say - Pet Shop Brochure 2024
  24. Click Save
  25. Click on the small white arrow beside Save changes Save changes button.  Puts content on pending, arrow showing h27 and choose Save and approve to be brought back to the Content list for that section
  26. Click on the Save changes button Save changes button.  Puts content on pending to be brought back to the site structure
