The Prevention & Early Intervention Summit, September 21-22, Thomond Park, Limerick

OPEN CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS 

The Prevention and Early Intervention Network (PEIN), in partnership with the UNESCO Child and Family Research Centre, University of Galway is hosting a PEI Summit in Thomond Park, Limerick on September 21st-22nd.

The PEI Summit will provide dedicated time and space for all those working in and/or with a keen interest in prevention and early intervention to come together, exchange ideas, hear inspiring keynotes, inputs and stories, and enhance the collective voice. Under the prevention and early intervention theme, the Summit will explore what PEI means, what it looks like in practice, why it needs to be prioritised, how it meets the needs of children and families and the direction it needs to take in Ireland.

Now we want to hear from you as we open our call for submissions.

The Summit welcomes proposals from delegates for presentations in lightning rounds, parallel sessions and posters. Abstracts are invited from the practice, policy, research and academic communities in relation to the key thematic areas:

  • The Early Years, including antenatal support and home-visiting
  • Child poverty
  • Health and wellbeing, including mental health and disabilities
  • Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
  • Supporting refugees / those seeking international protection
  • Supporting inclusion / combatting racism and exclusion
  • Trauma-informed care
  • Domestic, sexual and gender-based violence
  • Supporting parents and supporting families
  • Youth work
  • Education 

Although we are calling for contributions on these themes, other relevant topics are welcome. All submissions must reflect the overarching prevention and early intervention theme of the conference.

The deadline for submissions is July 7th 2023. Please ensure that you submit your abstract using the Abstract Submission Template. Further details on presentation types and timelines can be found on this template.

Submission will undergo a peer-reviewed process with successful applicants notified by July 24th . Please note that once registration opens, all presenters are required to register.

We look forward to working with you to deliver an interactive and energetic PEI Summit, which is co-funded by the DCEDIY What Works Initiative and Tusla, Child and Family Agency.
