Welcome to the Discipline of Psychiatry

 

The Discipline of Psychiatry st the University of Galway is responsible for teaching psychiatry to undergraduate medical students predominantly in year 4 of the medical curriculum, and also delivers teaching on psychiatry related topics to students attending related courses in the University. Academic staff also lead postgraduate psychiatry training in the region through the University of Galway Deanery of the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland. 

Academic staff are actively engaged in a range of psychiatry research projects focused upon clinical neuroscience and health services research, underpinned by close collaborative links with several other disciplines across Colleges in University of Galway as well as national and international partners.
