Junior Prospectus
Junior Prospectus
This is a workbook style publication aimed at 1st, 2nd, 3rd and TY students in secondary school.
This is a new, innovative publication and is one of a kind in Ireland. This publication gives a gentle introduction to university life and provides students with a resource to explore courses and start thinking about careers without the pressure of CAO points, and in a language that is aimed at their age group. It is also a really useful resource for parents.
What Guidance Counsellors Say

Mairead O'Mahony | Guidance Counsellor
NUI Galway’s “Your University, Your World” is a wonderfully illustrated and easily accessible guide to, not just NUI Galway, but to the world of Third Level education in general. It combines valuable sound bites from students and graduates, with informative statistics, in a compact publication. Most valuable for Guidance professionals, parents and students are the jargon busters that give clear definitions of concepts such as “Humanities”, “Philosophy” “Sociology” and “The Creative Arts”. It also poses, and answers, questions like “So you want to be a Scientist?” And “What does a Speech and Language Therapist do?” It demonstrates excellent links with the wider world of employment and the environment and explains clearly the alternative pathways into university education. An all round excellent publication that we will certainly use with all our students from 1st to 6th year.
