Is on-campus accommodation available?

First-year students are accommodated in Thomond Village and Cratloe Wood Student Village, two modern, purpose-built student residences located on the Old Cratloe Road in Limerick, approximately 20 kilometres from Shannon College of Hotel Management.

The accommodation consists of modern three-bedroom apartments with a range of room options to suit different preferences and budgets.

Apartments include furnished bedrooms, shared kitchen and living areas, and essential kitchen appliances such as a fridge-freezer, oven, microwave and washing machine.

Students also benefit from a wide range of on-site facilities and services, including:

  • Reception and management office
  • 24-hour security, CCTV and gated access
  • High-speed Wi-Fi
  • On-site maintenance team
  • Laundry facilities
  • Dedicated study spaces
  • Refuse collection
  • On-site parking

Student accommodation is managed by PMI (Property Management Ireland). Accommodation is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.

When do I apply for accommodation?

Applications for Shannon College student accommodation are made directly through PMI (Property Management Ireland).

As accommodation is limited, students are encouraged to apply as early as possible once the booking portal opens. A €400 booking deposit is required to secure your accommodation.

The accommodation booking portal typically closes on 30 June each year (subject to availability).

Room Types and Accommodation ​

Room allocations are confirmed after the accommodation application period has closed.

Students can choose from a variety of room options, including:

  • Single bedroom (non-ensuite)
  • Single bedroom (ensuite)
  • Double bedroom (ensuite)
  • Twin bedroom (ensuite)

Payment Information 

Accommodation costs vary depending on your chosen residence and room type. Current accommodation rates for both Thomond Village and Cratloe Wood Student Village are available on the PMI website:

A €400 booking deposit is required to secure your accommodation.

To confirm your room, the first accommodation instalment must be paid within three days of receiving your Round 1 CAO offer.

PMI manages all accommodation payments directly. Full payment schedules, terms and conditions are available on the PMI website or by contacting the PMI team directly.

Cancellation and Refund Policy 

Should you need to cancel your accommodation booking, the following refund policy applies:

  • Before 1 July: Full refund
  • From 2 July until three days after Round 1 CAO offers: €200 refund
  • More than three days after Round 1 CAO offers: No refund
