Gavin Moloney |   Assistant Front Office Manager, The Adare Manor

Shannon College opened up many doors of possibility and being an alumni of such a highly accredited college is amazing. No matter what corner of the world you go to, you’re never too far away from a Shannon Graduate. I look forward to the endless opportunities and possibilities that lie ahead for myself, and my classmates, with our training from Shannon College of Hotel Management.

I cannot recommend highly enough the benefits of doing the MSc in Business and Hospitality through Shannon College of Hotel Management and NUI Galway. The course is nicely balanced and expertly delivered by senior academic lectures and external industry practitioners, this blend offers a rich learning experience. The diverse mix of masters students further enriches the learning with ample time given to sharing experiences and personal insights. This course is very doable whilst working full time.

“The curriculum also allows you to develop a certain skill set which is a prerequisite to be successful within the business and hospitality industry, ranging from personality development, work ethic, interpersonal and soft skills as well as language development. The BComm Degree allowed me to focus on a business discipline during my final year where I spent in NUI Galway’s main campus. Students have the option to focus on disciplines in various fields such as Marketing, Human Resource Management, Information Technology, Accounting and Economics.”

Ian Moloney |   Group Senior Marketing Executive O'Donoghue Ring Collection

Having always had a strong interest in business and languages I chose to pursue a career in Hospitality which perfectly intersected my subject interests and personality type. I chose to enroll for the BComm in International Hotel Management for the opportunities it afforded me to specialize in areas like marketing and human resource management while being able to travel the world. I spent my fourth year based on the campus of University Galway where I specialized in Human Resource Management while taking on a number of Marketing Modules including web and interactive media design, media & marketing communications & brand management to name but a few.

Clodagh McDonald |   Front Office Manager at The Galmont Hotel, Galway

My final year in Shannon, I spent in The National University of Galway (NUIG) as part of the Bachelor of Commerce Course offered by Shannon College. During my time in NUIG I had the opportunity to specialise in Human Resource Management, where I also took on the role of Human Resources Stream Representative. It was a fantastic chance to study in a University setting and again develop new connections.
