College Doctor

The college doctor is Dr. Peter Flynn, 9 Killian Park, Shannon, Co Clare. Phone 061 364 274. Shannon College provides a free medical service which includes prescriptions, advice on medical matters and house calls for students unable to come to college. If students need to see the doctor they should contact Administration 061 712 2316 between 9am and 9.20am and the doctor will be called. If the doctor is available he will see them at the airport, usually at 10am. Outside of that time his surgery is in Killian Park, Shannon: 10.30am to 11.30am and in the afternoon 2pm to 5pm (Closed Wednesday afternoons). There is no need to make an appointment to see the doctor just attend the surgery.

Counselling Service 

University is a big step with many rewards, but also challenges. Counselling can be helpful for all kinds of difficulties, both academic and personal.  Our counselling sessions will take place in a private and in a secure location where your privacy will be entirely guaranteed.  Student Counsellor, Karen Gillespie, is here on campus every Monday from 2pm onwards and you can contact Karen anytime by email karen.gillespie@universityofgalway.ie .  Genny Harrington is our second Student Counsellor and she is in the College on Mondays and contactable at genny.harrington@universityofgalway.ie
