May 2025 Group |   Hospitality Skills Development Course

My favourite part of the day was the kitchen. We learned how to cook and present food. I also loved the restaurant, carrying trays and serving plates as well as coffee making. It was hands on and such great craic. Everyone got involved and the teachers were so fun and the students were all super nice! In accommodation, it was cool to learn about towel art and making flower bouquets! We did a team building session which was actually really nice and so effective. At the end we were given tips and inside tricks to the art of interviews and CV's as well as having a fun quiz and an insight into what the college is like as a student. I learned so many new skills and made some new friends! I would definitely recommend this course.

Sophie Heagney-Walsh |   Skills Development Attendee

I was part of the first group to take part in this course and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I felt it was very beneficial. I learned a variety of skills which I can now apply to my part time and future jobs. I now have a clearer insight into the hospitality industry and I am delighted to have been given the opportunity. I am proud to say I have since become a student of Shannon College of Hotel Management and have completed my year 2 placement in the Ritz Carlton Abama Tenerife.
