Biography:
| "Having worked at the frontline of mental health services has been extremely valuable and influential in my approach to research, teaching and to engaging with a wide range of my community work." Mary Keys was awarded a Ph.D. by the University of Wales, Cardiff University Law School in 2006 on the topic of human rights and mental health law. Her main research focus is in mental health law and policy. She is a member of the Mental Health Commission as the representative of the public interest. Mary is involved in a number of non-governmental organisations. Prior to becoming a full-time member of staff in 1999 she worked as a psychiatric social worker in the mental health services. Mary was Associate Dean for Student Affairs from 2001-2009 and Assistant Head for Learning and Teaching from 2009-10 at the School of Law. She is a member of the University Research Ethics Committee and the Advisory Group for the Going to College Project. |
