Biography:

Ronan is Senior Technical Officer in GIS (Geographical Information Systems), and manages the Ryan Institute GIS Centre.

Ronan was awarded his 1st Class Honours Bachelors Degree in Earth Sciences at NUI Galway in 1999. Following this, Ronan was awarded a 1st Class Honours Higher Diploma in Applied Remote Sensing and GIS at NUI Maynooth in 2002. In 2009, Ronan was awarded a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D) for his research into the


Ronán worked for several years in the private geospatial services sector before returning to research and academia in Galway.
Awarded a Ph.D degree in The Application of 3D Visualisation and Multimedia Technologies for Geoscience Education in NUI Galway's Department of Earth and Ocean Sciences in 2009, Ronán continues to conduct research and development in the visualisation and geospatial domain.
