This workshop will look at aspects of assessment and feedback, including different types of assessment, and how Blackboard can be used to support the principles of assessment. Topics to be included are:

• Assessment Tools on Blackboard


• The Assignment Tool for online submission


• Inline grading for marking online


• Using rubrics for marking and feedback


• Linking assessment to the Grade Centre


• Giving results and feedback to students via My Grades

The workshop will not cover Blackboard tests (MCQs), surveys, Turnitin assignments or GradeMark.

This workshop is offered at the intermediate level. Participants should be comfortable with the basic functionality of Blackboard and should be involved in teaching and assessment of students.
