Tomy Ncube (PhD candidate) presented at two major conferences on social protection and climate change across diverse geographical contexts. The Southern African Social Protection Experts’ Network (SASPEN) conference was held in Blantyre, Malawi (26-27 Nov 2025), and organised with the support of the Embassy of Ireland in Malawi, alongside partners including the ILO, GIZ, and UNDP (conference details here). The conference focused on climate resilience and social protection, where Tomy presented a research paper.

He also presented at the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) in Bonn, Germany (26-28 Nov 2025), at an international workshop examining how social protection can support climate change mitigation and adaptation (conference details here). Among leading international experts working in this field, Tomy shared empirical evidence from field work in Zimbabwe. Exchanges at IDOS explored a range of themes, including adaptive social protection, institutional strengthening, and climate finance.
