Umaru Fofanah, who completed his MA in International Development Practice with us in 2023, recently met with Dr Una Murray during a field visit to Sierra Leone in her role as a Board Member of Sightsavers Ireland. Following the completion of his MA, Umaru returned to Sierra Leone, where he works with the Cotton Tree Foundation. During their meeting, Dr. Murray learned more about the important work Umaru is leading to support young people and children in the northern and north-western regions of the country. Dr Murray also visited Sightsavers projects promoting disability inclusion, eye health, and civic participation.
