Autism Friendly HEI
Autism Friendly Higher Education Candidate Badge
University of Galway is committed to inclusivity, equal opportunity, and fairness and and continues in its efforts to create and sustain a Higher Education environment in which Autistic people can thrive.
AsIAm, Ireland's national autism charity, has recognised the University's intentions to become an Autism Friendly Higher Education Institution (HEI) by awarding an Autism Friendly HEI Candidate Badge.
The project is co-located between the Office of the Dean of Students and the Office of the Vice-President for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion. It is driven by a large number of volunteers — staff and students alike — from across the University, and is supported by community partner Galway Autism Partnership (GAP).
Over the next three years, the Autism Friendly HEI Development Committee will continue to identify and implement meaningful changes to benefit autistic students, staff, and visitors.
For further information, contact the project lead, Dr Frances McCormack.
