Prof. Roja Fazaeli Speaks at International Conference on Islamic Feminism and Decolonial Futures, New Delhi

Prof. Roja Fazaeli participated as an invited speaker at the two-day international conference “Islamic Feminism and Decolonial Futures: Epistemology, Ethics and Praxis,” hosted by the Sarojini Naidu Centre for Women’s Studies (SNCWS), Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, on 7–8 November 2025.

The event brought together leading scholars working on gender, Islamic thought, and decolonial feminist scholarship.

Prof. Fazaeli delivered a lecture titled:

“Defining ‘Muslim Woman’: Notes from the Field on Iranian Women's Identities in the Diaspora.”

Her talk examined the intersections of legal identity, diaspora experiences, and the politics of representation in contemporary Iranian women’s narratives, drawing on her broader research in gender, religion, and human rights.
