Cancer Centre Status Awarded - 2024
Cancer Centre Accreditation and Designation
In 2022 our Cancer Centre became a member of the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes and entered the accreditation and quality improvement programme. In May 2024 the OECI audit board visited Galway, Sligo, and Letterkenny to review our cancer care, research and education facilities and services. OECI Cancer Centre status was awarded in November 2024 to 2029.
Cancer Network of Care and Accreditation Teams
The HSE West and North West Cancer Centre provides cancer services at five regional hospital sites under the governance of the Cancer Network of Care (NoC).
