Professor Enrico Dal Lago has published a monograph on the theory and practice of transnational comparisons focused on the 19th-century

Professor Enrico Dal Lago has just published Transnational Comparisons in Nineteenth-Century History: Theory and Case Studies (Routledge, 2026). The book is the first monograph that combines theory and practice in a treatment of transnational comparisons with a focus on the nineteenth century. It aims to provide scholars, researchers, and students working on the nineteenth century with a specific resource for doing comparative history. It combines a methodological introduction with case studies of transnational comparisons of individuals, groups, cities, events, processes, and beliefs within a Euro-American historical context.
