Public & Patient Involvement (PPI)
The INISH study has two active Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) Advisory panels.
The members in the General Populations panel are representative of the gender, age, educational, social, sexual, racial, and geographical diversity of Ireland. We are grateful to stalwart members such as Ms Amy Cachia, Mr Charlie Awari, Mr Dean O'Reilly, who consented to be acknowledged publicly, alongside others who remain unnamed but whose thoughtful contributions have enriched the panel's discussions.
The Special Populations panel involves representatives of organisations advocating for and representing marginalised populations, such as sexual minorities, people living with disabilities, rehabilitation care, people living with HIV, prisoners, and the homeless population. The panels are involved in all stages of the project through regular online consultation sessions.
The following organisations are represented on the Special Populations Panel:
- Ms Laura Tully, Nurse Manager at Sexual Health Service, Technological University of the Shannon, Athlone
-
Ms Lorraine Conneely, Health Promotion Officer, Irish Men’s Sheds Association
-
Ms Amanda O’Connell, Rehabilitative Training Coordinator, Central Remedial Clinic
-
