Overview

The Discipline of Clinical Medicine & Population Health contributes to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, delivering clinical and research-led teaching in all areas of clinical medicine.

Undergraduate

  • We teach predominantly on the MB BCh BAO programme in Years: Foundation,1,2, 3 and 5. The present Year Heads of 3MB and 5MB sit in this Discipline.
  • All areas of clinical medicine are covered, most importantly in clinical placements, but augmented by lectures, small group tutorials and simulations.
  • Students learn clinical medicine and population health at the bedside in hospitals, in clinics in the community hubs and outpatient departments and on electives in Ireland and abroad. They have opportunity for research exposure during summer projects with physicians.

  • Programmes: MSc in Clinical Research, MSc in Preventative Cardiology, MSc in Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, MSc in Diabetes and MSc in Obesity
