Podiatric Medicine
Welcome to the Discipline of Podiatric Medicine
The Discipline of Podiatric Medicine was established in University of Galway in 2008 and offers the only BSc in Podiatric Medicine programme in the Republic of Ireland and the Podiatric Medicine MSc (Pre-registration) programme. The development of the Podiatric Medicine programme at University of Galway was an exciting initiative and has been developed through close partnership with University of Galway and the Health Services Executive (HSE) West. Dedicated teaching facilities have been developed at Áras Moyola and a state of the art podiatry clinic has also been renovated by the HSE at the Merlin Park Hospital site. This is where the majority of the students’ clinical education and training will be undertaken throughout the duration of the programme.
We welcome applications from school leavers, international students as well as mature applicants. The Discipline is committed to providing a comprehensive education for Podiatrists and the curriculum is based on best available evidence in relation to both theory and practice.
