Refunds

Note that you cannot be refunded if any fees are owed to the University, including where this is to be paid from a granting authority or sponsor/funder (You can be refunded once the University receives the full fee payment). Please note that SUSI will not make final payment to the University for 2024/25 awards until April 2025.   Please see policy document QA306‌ on fee refunds. 

If you have been contacted by the University to provide bank details for a refund please choose from one of the following options: 

  1. Currently registered students should use the student payment gateway to submit their bank details online. You can find this on the "Finance" tab.  Please note that this can ONLY be used for bank accounts in the Republic of Ireland (note Revolut accounts do not have an Irish IBAN, see 4 below) If you have issues logging in please see steps outlined here.
  2. If you are not currently registered or have a bank account elsewhere in the EU/UK/EEA or Switzerland please download the form European Union EFT and email it to fees@universityofgalway.ie (including your student ID number).
  3. If your bank account is in India please download the form Indian EFT form and email it to fees@universityofgalway.ie (including your student ID number).
  4.  All other students should download the form EFT form here and email it to fees@universityofgalway.ie (including your student ID number). 

If valid bank details are submitted before the end of the Month they will be paid by the end of the following Month (e.g. if details are provided by the 31st of January the refunds will be made by the 28th of February). 

Please note: Incomplete bank details will cause delays and providing inaccurate details may result in misapplied funds that cannot be retrieved.
