University of Galway School of Law was honoured to host a visiting delegation from Jilin University School of Law on Friday, 26 September 2025. The delegation’s visit reflects a shared commitment by both institutions to advancing cooperation in legal education and research.

During their time in Galway, the delegates met with members of the School of Law, toured the University campus, and engaged in discussions on key areas of shared interest, including corporate and company law, human rights, and law and technology. The visit also provided an opportunity to consider potential future collaborations, such as joint teaching initiatives, a short introductory course on common law, student progression pathways, and a possible joint conference.

Professor Martin Hogg, Dean of University of Galway School of Law, remarked:

“We are delighted to have hosted a visiting delegation from Jilin University School of Law. Their delegates were able to meet with Galway faculty members and tour our campus. Jilin is one of the top law schools in China, and our two law schools share a vision of the importance of globally connected and impactful legal education. This visit is the first step towards further cooperation between our law schools, which we hope will blossom into opportunities for joint teaching and research activities.”

The visit marks the beginning of what is hoped will be a productive and long-term partnership between the two schools, enriching the educational and research experiences of both faculty and students.
