EU Economic Governance and the Charter of Fundamental Rights

The objectives of this Project are to integrate human rights into the practice of economic governance in the EU. It will involve specialist research, in collaboration with social movements and NGOS, to ensure that economic and social rights, (especially those within the EU Charter of Fundamental Right) are integrated into the mechanisms of economic governance and regulation by EU institutions. This is particularly relevant in the context of the ECB role in banking supervision under the Single Supervisory Mechanism. The Project will prepare materials to facilitate civil society organisations, social movements and NGOs to engage in effective advocacy promoting the Charter, and is focused on assisting people across the EU in mortgage distress. The project is funded by Open Society Initiative for Europe (OSIFE). Materials on the Project will be available here.
