University of Galway Health Psychologists at the Psychology, Health & Medicine Conference in Belfast

Staff, students and collaborators of the School of Psychology at University of Galway attended the the Psychology, Health and Medicine Annual Conference, which took place in Queen's University Belfast on 27th May 2025. The conference was hosted by the Northern Irish Branch of the Division of Health Psychology of the British Psychological Society (DHP NI), in association with the Division of Health Psychology of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI DHP).

The theme of this year's conference was Health Psychology: Bridging the Gap to Wellbeing. As part of the event, Prof Molly Byrne chaired a panel discussion on 'Understanding patient and public involvement', in conversation with two 'experts by experience'. University of Galway staff, students and graduates received awards at the event: Dr Jenny Groarke was awarded Best Oral Presentation; Mr David Comer was awarded the Prof Ruth Curtis prize for postgraduate excellence in research and practice; and Dr Eimear Morrissey was awarded the Prof Hannah McGee Early Career Excellence in Research Award.
