Engineering Scholarship
Cunningham Civil & Marine Scholarship
Cunningham Civil & Marine Ltd (CCM), a family-owned business founded in 2007 and headquartered in Westport, Co. Mayo, is proud to announce the establishment of the Cunningham Civil & Marine Scholarship. This annual scholarship will support and empower the next generation of engineers, with a particular focus on encouraging participation in the field of Civil Engineering.
The total value of the scholarship will be €10,000. €2,000 per annum.
The scholarship value will be paid towards annual tuition or issued as a stipend if the student is already in receipt of other financial aid.
Scholarship Detail
Cunningham Civil & Marine Scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis to support an Engineering student registered at University of Galway. The scholarship scheme is open to first year students registered on GY401 Engineering (Undenominated) or GY402 Bachelor of Engineering (Civil)
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be a registered student entering Year 1 of GY401 or GY402 at University of Galway.
- A commitment to a future career in Civil Engineering.
- Preference may be given to students from underrepresented groups in Engineering or students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds
Application Process
- The closing date for receipt of applications is Friday, 10th October 2025
- All applicants will be required to supply a personal statement as part of the application process. The personal statement should be no more than 500 words and may include reference to the following: the impact of the scholarship on the student’s academic and career aspirations; relevant personal circumstances; a demonstrated passion for Civil Engineering; notable academic achievements to date; and any financial need.
- Shortlisted applicants will be called for interview and reviewed by a panel. Applicants invited for interview will be required to be available, in-person on Friday 31st October 2025
