On behalf of a dynamic and enthusiastic team of educators and researchers, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Discipline of Education at NUI Galway.
There are few things in life as important, impactful and exciting as learning. Educators play a pivotal role in the shaping and maturation of individuals and societies. We all remember the people who cared for and inspired us, who stood up for us, challenged us, and helped us to grow.
Preparing and supporting teachers, education leaders and researchers is a privilege and responsibility that we highly value. We foster strong relationships with and among our students and embrace their diverse backgrounds, experiences and talents in an inclusive and interdisciplinary environment. Our programmes and research projects are anchored in theory and relevant to the practical demands of teaching and learning, the challenges facing society, and the needs and aspirations of educators and young people themselves.
