About us

Office of the Vice President for Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

Established in 2016, the Office of the Vice President for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion leads the University of Galway's efforts to embed equality, celebrate diversity, and build a culture of true inclusion across all aspects of university life.

Our vision is to make the University of Galway one of the most inclusive places in the world to work, study, and conduct research. We believe that the lived experiences, knowledge, and ambitions of our diverse staff and student community are essential to achieving this goal.

Whether it's advancing Gender Equality through Athena Swan, addressing racial justice with the Race Equality Framework, or making our campus more accessible through Universal Design, or fostering a culture of respect and safety through our work on Sexual Violence and Harassment Prevention and Response, we work collaboratively to remove barriers and ensure everyone can thrive.
