Welcome to the Health Economics and Policy Analysis Centre (HEPAC)

HEPAC is co-located in the Institute for the Lifecourse and Society (ILAS) and the J.E. Cairnes School of Business and Economics at the University of Galway.

The mission of HEPAC is to generate high-quality research that goes to inform future health policy and healthcare practices, and its aim is to develop, apply, and teach methods for the health economic analysis of health, health care, and health technology.

HEPAC's alignment with ILAS and its aim to enable equity across the lifecource centres on the generation of evidence that goes to enable equality of opportunity to maximise health and well-being across the lifecourse.

HEPAC have extensive collaborative links with clinical, health, and social science researchers at the University of Galway and with partners in national and international organisations. Researchers at HEPAC explore a range of research questions relating to global challenges, sustainable development goals, and public policy needs relating to health and well-being. Current projects are funded by agencies such as the Health Research Board, Research Ireland, charities, and industry partners.
