New Student

- 2026/2027 Academic Year Registration: Students register online via our online student registration portal from August /September of each year.
- Registration information is sent, upon confirmation of your place on your programme, including details of registration and fee payment.
- This information will be sent to the email address which you provided in your application, ensure that this is a valid, working email address
- Starting University provides useful information such as accommodation, student services etc
- NOTE: If you have any queries regarding your application please liaise direct with the Admissions Office, we can only assist once you have accepted your offer and are on our system.
New 1st Year PhD with start date after March 1st 2026?
As you are starting your course between 1st March and 31st August, you will commence in a ‘0’ course stream e.g. 0SPA1. This stream allows you to register, obtain your student card set up your campus student accounts and gain access to a wide range of campus services and facilities.
You will be required to register again in August 2026 for the 1st year of your course e.g. 1SPA1. Registration information for 26/27 will be updated on our registration webpage www.universityofgalway.ie/registration later in the year.
Online registration is now closed. If you wish to Register for the remainder of the academic year, the following is required:
1. COLLEGE PERMISSION: Permission from College / Supervisor to register.
2. FEES: Contact the Fees Office at fees@universityofgalway.ie . Once the Fees Office clear you to register, email confirmation of same to registration@universityofgalway.ie.
3. STUDENT: In order for us to manually register you, we require your authorisation, please email registration@universityofgalway.ie if you want to register and accept the Universities Terms & Conditions.
