It gives Leaving Certificate students a second chance to pursue an Engineering or Computer Science programme in the College of Science & Engineering, University of Galway.
The examination will take place after Leaving Certificate results are issued and prior to second round CAO results.

The EMQE is available to students who are applying through CAO, on completion of the Leaving Certificate, and EU students who do not meet the minimum of a H4 in Maths in their Leaving Certificate/final EU school exams.
