This is how you apply

1. Check your eligibility
Make sure you meet the eligibility criteria before starting your application.

2. Prepare your documents
You must provide:

  • Household income documentation* for the previous calendar year.
  • Two non-family referees (e.g. one educational and one community/sport/previous employer)
  • Evidence of income, from Revenue if you were employed or from the Department of Social Protection if you were unemployed. School-Leavers need to provide this evidence from their parents income.

*This documentation does not need to be provided by:

    • Students with experience of the care system if they have a letter from Tusla, and/or

    • Irish Traveller and Roma students 

3. Write your personal statement (max. 500 words)
Your statement should outline:

  • Your personal and educational experience to date
  • The main challenges or barriers you have faced
  • Why this opportunity is important to you
  • What you hope to study at university

4. Complete the online application form
The application form must be completed online.
Application forms are now open. 

5. Interview (*if required)
Access Programme applicants, both School-Leaver and Mature, will be invited to attend a short interview with the Access team.

*Foundation Programme part-time applicants will not.

6. Offers
Successful applicants will receive an offer by email and will be required to formally accept that offer.
