3rd Annual Sand Dune Gathering Galway City Saturday 17th May 2025
You are invited to the 3rd Annual Sand Dune Gathering. This event brings together people interested in the future of Ireland’s beaches and dunes. At the event you will learn about, and contribute your views on, best practices in dune management, planning and restoration.
In a friendly, constructive environment we have a set of “tricky issues” to work through: What is best practice? What are the issues in implementing that best practice in the real world? What can we do in 2025 to apply best practice (despite the barriers we encounter)?
Expected outcomes
- Help in designing local actions to implement for 2025s, by working through a series of dune management issues in “bite-sized best-practice” session.
- Networking: an opportunity to meet other dune managers, volunteers, NGOs or policy makers. There will be an exhibition space (so bring along anything you would like to share in this space)
- Resources: you need it, we have it! And if not, we can work together to find or develop it!
- We will host a field trip to Grattan Beach, Salthill.
Numbers are limited, so book on this link to avoid disappointment.
