On the 23rd of April, twenty-three PhD students presented their research as part of the PhD School of Geography, Archaeology, and Irish Studies Presentation Day. Throughout the day, there were excellent presentations from all students and great help from staff and postdoctoral researchers in evaluating and helping throughout the day. 
Winners of the Presentation Awards on the day were: 
  • 1st Year: Anouska Tamuli (Archaeology) Presentation Title: Understanding Climate Change in the Context of Indigenous Communities: A Case Study of the Mising Community of Assam.
  • 2nd Year: Diane Armitage (Geography) Presentation Title: The Impact Of Essential Climate Variables On Respiration Rates In Subpolar And Polar Planktonic Foraminifera
  • 3rd Year: Tomy Ncube (Geography) Presentation Title: Exploring Pathways For An Inclusive Social Protection System In Zimbabwe: Learning From The Experiences Of Disaster Displaced Populations In Chimanimani And Tsholotsho
  • 4th Year: Georgia MacMillan (Geography) Presentation Title: Preserving The Wonderful Every Night; Building A Sustainable Framework For Dark Sky Tourism In Rural Ireland
