Whether you’re looking to explore Ireland’s rich local and global history or select from a range of specialist modules covering Europe, Britain, Australasia and Africa or expand your studies in American history, our programme provides an exciting exploration of the past, tracing historical developments from medieval times to the present. You will be able to choose from a range of specialist modules addressing a variety of historical themes including global and transnational history, migration, nationalism, colonialism, famine, land, race and ethnicity, childhood, gender, and war.

Combining the energy of a young and diverse population with the authenticity of a place steeped in history and tradition, Galway’s stunning Atlantic-facing location makes it an ideal place to study History while experiencing Ireland’s rich and diverse cultural heritage, breath-taking landscape and vibrant city life. Galway also provides an ideal launch-pad for exploring the rest of Europe.
