Ceremony
Ceremony
- The ceremony will commence at 2pm on Friday 6th March in the Bailey Allen Hall.
- Entry to the Bailey Allen Hall is strictly by invitation only.
- Prizewinners and guests must be seated 30 minutes before the ceremony.
- Prizewinner seat numbers will be displayed in the foyer of Áras na MacLéinn (just outside the Bailey Allen Hall).
- Guest seating in the hall is clearly marked and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The ceremony will commence with an academic procession and prizewinners will be presented with a memento.
- At the end of the ceremony, prizewinners will be invited to join the Academic Procession exiting the hall.
- Light refreshments will be served for prizewinners and guests following the ceremony.
- Please note that drinks or food are not permitted in the Bailey Allen Hall.
- In the interest of safety, prams/buggies are not permitted in the Bailey Allen Hall.
Parking
- Please be aware that traffic in Galway can be extremely busy, so we urge those travelling by car to give themselves plenty of time. Please allow extra time for your arrival to account for any possible delays.
- Parking is heavily restricted on the main campus and clamping is in operation : Link to Interactive Campus Map

- Limited free parking is available for prizewinners and guests at the Park and Ride Carpark. The Park and Ride Carpark is located on North Campus at the University of Galway. The address is as follows : University of Galway Park & Ride, Upper Newcastle, 7WRH+4J, Galway. The Park & Ride carpark Google location is as follows : 7WRH+4J - Google Maps .
- Please ensure you park in the white line spaces only. Parking must be paid if parking in the Pay and Display carparking spaces.
- Please ensure you leave sufficient time to make your way to the Park & Ride Carpark which is located just under 2kms from the University campus where the ceremony takes place.
- A free shuttle bus runs between the Park and Ride Carpark and the Orbsen Building at regular intervals. The Orbsen is approximately 5 minutes walk from the Bailey Allen Hall.
- Limited disabled parking spaces are available on campus for holders of valid disabled parking permits. Please refer to the campus map for locations.
- Several public car parks are located within walking distance of the campus.
