UNDERGRADUATE MEDICAL STUDIES
(4th Year Medical Students)
The Department of OtoRhinoLaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery is committed to outstanding clinical care, the education of future leaders in our specialty and to advancing knowledge through basic and clinical research. Our aim is to embrace the changes associated with the new year 4 Curriculum, which ultimately will lead to an enhanced learning experience for the students. OtoRhinoLaryngology will be formally thought as part of the Advanced Clinical Skills and Primary and Mental Health Care Module. At an early stage we hope to clearly define learning objectives and develop a learner centered approach to teaching. Encourage more self directed learning and develop clinical competence around the domains of knowledge skills and attitude. We aspire to deliver a 360o knowledge of OtoRhinoLaryngology which students can integrate into their daily practice as they journey to become competent Doctors. The importance of safe clinical/surgical practice will be emphasised throughout this learning process. We strongly believe that medical teaching is an interactive process and therefore we seek feed-back and suggestions, in order to effect changes and improve quality. We hope that students will find this an enjoyable experience which allows them to become part of our team.
- We will be happy to reply to all queries from students with particular interest in OtoRhynoLaryngology, and ensure additional learning opportunities!
- International students are welcome to undertake summer clinical attachment!
