Research in the Discipline of Pharmacology & Therapeutics

The Discipline is actively engaged in a dynamic research programme which encompasses the areas of neuroscience/neuropharmacology, inflammation, cancer biology, tumour immunology, immunotherapies, immunopharmacology, endocrinology and cardiovascular pharmacology. Researchers within the Discipline of Pharmacology and Therapeutics are members of, and play lead roles within, University of Galway’s Institute for Health Discovery and Innovation, Institute for Clinical Trials, Institute for Creativity, CÚRAM, Galway Neuroscience Centre, Centre for Pain Research, and REMEDI. The Discipline has extensive research links and collaborations with other leading national and international research centres, institutes, and non-academic partners. The research activities of the Discipline are funded by a variety of competitive sources.
