Staff in the Discipline of Pharmacy contribute to a range of science and healthcare programmes across the University. Our flagship programme is the MPharm which fulfils the educational requirements to register as a Pharmacist. You can find out more about our new, future-focused Pharmacy programme, launched in September 2025, by clicking on the MPharm icon below.

The staff within the Discipline are experts across the broad spectrum of Pharmacy research including formulation science, Pharmacy practice, therapeutics, health economics and clinical trials. We provide education on these areas to students across the College of Medicine and Health.

Many of our staff members have completed additional qualifications in teaching and learning including in areas such as such as Education for Sustainable Development, best practice in education for healthcare students and more.

The staff are members of many Pharmacy and healthcare education societies including the All Ireland Inter-professional Education organising committee, the Sustainability in Pharmacy Education Committee and others.

We ensure our students are kept up-to-date on international best practice. Members of the Discipline collaborate with colleagues within the ENLIGHT consortium on workshops for sustainable Pharmacy and social Pharmacy.
