Professor Dalton completed his BSc and PhD in Zoology and Parasitology at University College Dublin and has over 35 years of international research experience. He has held research positions at leading institutions including Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, the National Institutes for Allergies and Infectious Diseases (USA), the Queensland Institute for Medical Research (Australia), McGill University (Canada), and Queen’s University Belfast.

His research focuses on the fundamental biology of parasites and their interactions with animal and human hosts, with a particular emphasis on translating this knowledge into practical solutions such as diagnostic tools, vaccines, and novel treatments.
