Parking

Friday Parking

When: Friday, 15 September
Where: Dangan Park and Ride (see address below)

Parking on campus is for permit-holders only – visitors can park in designated pay and display areas. On Friday, 15 September, free parking will be available for orientation visitors and students in the Dangan Park and Ride car park in North Campus. This car park is accessible via the entrance to Corrib Village, off Upper Newcastle Road (address below).

Please note: vehicles parked anywhere else on campus without a permit or valid pay and display ticket in a pay and display area, will likely be clamped. Students with a campus parking permit may park in designated student car parks. External paid parking is also available nearby at the Cathedral car park and other city locations.  

Saturday Parking

When: Saturday, 16 September
Where: Open parking across campus (no permit needed)

Friday Shuttle Bus  

When: Friday, 15 September
Where: From Dangan Park & Ride facility in North Campus to the Orbsen Building in central campus

A free shuttle bus service will run on Friday from the Dangan Park & Ride facility in the North Campus to the Orbsen Building in the central campus, with several stops along the route. Park & Ride buses usually run every 15 minutes during peak times in the morning and evening, and at less frequent intervals during the day. Check out the bus timetable here. 

Finding your way 

We know that the campus can seem big and confusing at first. Not to worry – our Student Ambassadors will be on hand to help you get from A to BRemember to allow yourself plenty of time to arrive and find the first venue on your orientation timetable. Our interactive campus map can come in handy when finding buildings and lecture halls.

Fan Zone – Parents, Guardians and Supporters

When: 9am - 1pm, Friday, 15 September
Where: Common Room, The Chapel of St. Columbanus

Don't worry, we haven’t forgotten about our students’ biggest fans – parents, guardians, family and friends. Come along to the Chapel Common Room to enjoy some refreshments, chat with other supporters and put your feet up – you deserve it!

Get Connected Help Desk

When: 10am–4pm, Friday, 15 September & 10am –12pm, Saturday, 16 September
Where: Foyer, Hardiman Research Building

Drop by the Get Connected Help Desk in the Hardiman Research Building Foyer (by the Library turnstiles) for help connecting to the University Library and IT Systems. There will also be student ambassadors on hand to help you with any queries. Make sure to drop in if you’re having issues setting up email, Canvas, Office 365 or Wi-Fi

Student Enquiry Centre 

When: 10am–4pm, Friday, 15 September & 10am–3pm, Saturday, 16 September
Where: Arts/Science Building, Concourse 

Drop by our Student Enquiry Centre – your first-stop shop for all your student needs and queries. 

Guided Campus Tours

When: 9am-4pm (every 30 minutes) – Friday & Saturday, 15 & 16 September
Where: Outside the Quadrangle

Want to get to know your new campus better? Come along on a campus tour. Each tour group is led by our trained Student Guides who will bring you on an Accessible route from South Campus to Central Campus, showing you our beautiful historical campus, its buildings and interesting features. The tour takes approximately 50 mins. Our guides are happy to answer questions and make you feel right at home. All are welcome, furry friends and children included.
