Oliver is a highly experienced scientist at the Genomics & Screening, Flow Cytometry and Light Microscopy Core Facilities in the Biomedical Sciences Building. He is an immunologist with 15 years of experience in transplant, tumour and stromal cell immunology and evaluation of immune responses in pre-clinical tumour and allogeneic transplantation models.
Oliver has expertise in conventional and spectral flow cytometry, molecular biology techniques including RT-qPCR, as well as extensive experience developing and optimising experimental assays, troubleshooting instrumentation, and training researchers in complex laboratory techniques.
Oliver holds an MSc in Regenerative Medicine and a PhD in Transplant Immunology from the University of Galway, where his research investigated the potential of stromal cell therapies for the prolongation of corneal allograft survival. His research and technical contributions have resulted in multiple high-impact publications, successful grant funding and productive collaborations with both academic and industrial partners.
